Samsung Galaxy S III goes on sale in 28 countries today, will reach 145 countries by July
Delays? What delays? That’s how Samsung is reacting to reports of the Galaxy S III facing manufacturing delays. The world’s largest Android smartphone vendor is making its biggest ever global launch for a smartphone as the Galaxy S III goes on sale today in 28 countries across Europe and the Middle East. Samsung claims it will launch the device across 145 countries on 296 carriers by July, making it the fastest global roll-out ever. To put things into perspective, the Galaxy S was launched in 112 countries and 145 carriers while the Galaxy S II was launched in 135 countries and 210 carriers.
Over the next week the Galaxy S III will be launched in nine other countries, including India, under a global launch roadshow. Samsung is holding the Galaxy S III launch event in Delhi on May 31. Reports claim Samsung has already landed over nine million pre-orders from carriers for its flagship smartphone.
