Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 now available in UK stores
The ultra-affordable £150 Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is now available in the UK following the handset’s official release on June 4.
Aimed at younger and more budget-conscious users, the Galaxy Mini packs in an 800MHz processor, access to Samsung’s Hub services, Android 2.3 and a 3-megapixel camera.
‘We’ve had a good response to the Galaxy Mini since it launched last year, particularly among the “first smartphone generation.” Smartphone growth is continuing at pace this year, and not just at the premium end of the market,’ said Simon Stanford, Vice President UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division.
He added: ‘Handsets such as the Galaxy Mini 2 are needed to meet the growing demand for more affordable devices for customers on the lookout for their first smartphone.’
The device also features NFC, a 1,300mAh battery, 4GB of storage but nothing in the way of microSD support, which is something we always like to see on budget handsets with limited storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is available for around £150 SIM-free from Amazon. Orange and T-Mobile are also carrying the device where it’s available on select tariffs and pre-pay deals.
