pocketnow: Samsung SCH-I200 “Jasper” clears FCC with Verizon LTE support

In mid-April, we spotted an unknown Samsung Android in the Bluetooth SIG’s device certification listings, model SCH-I200. After digging around a little, we pulled-up some benchmark results for the handset, which ended up providing a whole bunch of additional details on the phone. The model appeared to be getting ready for Verizon, and was referred to by codename Jasper. According to that data, it would arrive running a dual-core Snapdragon S4 and come equipped with Ice Cream Sandwich, yet would only a have a WVGA display, which sounds positively low-res compared to the other phones coming out nowadays. Today, we see more evidence of the handset’s eventual launch on Verizon, upon Jasper’s FCC paperwork going public.

There’s little in these documents to help grant us any greater insight into the model, but what we can see does tend to back-up certain details. That means the presence of all the Verizon bands we’d look for, including support for LTE on the carrier’s band 13. We would have loved to get some more detail on the phone’s hardware, especially something that would help confirm or correct what we’ve seen about the handset’s display, but that will have to wait for another day.
