Galaxy Ace 2 Latin Version (GT-I8160L) gets Jelly Bean Update in Thailand
Today Samsung released first and desirable by users update to Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Device (this time Latin version). The first region to feel the taste of Android 4.1.2 on Galaxy Ace 2 Latin (GT-I8160L) will be THL which is Thailand.
As we don’t have the device locally, we can’t really tell whats changed inside, but we can assume that this update will pack latest Nature UX powered TouchWIz interface, and other additional software flavors that other Jelly Bean powered Samsung devices already got.
This is the first of its kind for Ace 2 series of devices, so expect more to come within this or next week – and for sure for other variants of Ace 2 , not only Latin.
Model: GT-I8160L (Galaxy Ace 2 Latin)
Android: 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
Build Date: 30.05.2013
As always, you can download it at Galaxy Ace 2 Latin (GT-I8160L) Firmware Page, or trough KIES (if you own the device)

If you use your phone for more than talking,do not upgrade. I am looking for a new phone, I like JB but I hate how slow my Ace2 become after update. Good prices on Galaxy S3 now, I want a phone with at least 2gb of ram.
I have the model mentioned, phone update kicks in and downloads a 400 mb file, restart to update but fails after like 1 sex, i see something about mount error and the starts up. No updates applied. Very annoying. Tried like 5 times now. What to do?
Awesome I just purchased this phone for a gift to someone in South America and I tried to update using KIES but could not find the update, so I installed it using the Orion installer and now I have Jelly Bean the only thing is that it is for the GT-8160L however is missing the Spanish language. I am assuming this is because is the east Asia release for this ROM. Thank you !! it works perfect.
@AndersSmedman I uninstalled Facebook touch, then the update installed! Nice with Jellybean! It is a bit slow after I installed Skype, sip software, viber ad a few other must have apps. There is around 70MB RAM available when my apps started so 768mb is too little for a smooth user experiance
@gujagonzalez Keep checking the samsung-updates site for Latin America version of Jelly Bean I installed the THAILAND version and now we have the New Zealand version maybe by October the Latin America Version will be available.
@AndersSmedman I notice this also, however I did a Factory Reset after the phone got updated to JB and it runs smooth. If you hold down the "Home" button it will give you a quick menu where you can terminate memory process and free RAM on your device. I notice this helped with the slow issue on the phone.
@AdrianFelipeRomero Sip, Asegurate que el modelo del celular que tienes sea Samsung Ace 2 (
