Eurodroid: Samsung’s UK chart streaming app now official

Samsung has today announced the existence of the weird UK top 40 chart app that’s been puzzling us for the last couple of months. It’s designed to download the UK’s top 40 content overnight to reduce data traffic use, plus there’s stuff like celebrity news, bonus tracks, notifications and social sharing tools, should you enjoy any of its “content.”

4th July 2012, London, UK – Samsung today unveiled the latest innovative content for its range of Galaxy smartphones – The Official Top 40 Chart App, launching on the Galaxy Ace II which is now available in UK stores.

Exclusive to Samsung, the Official Top 40 Chart App, powered by mobile music company MusicQubed, delivers unlimited plays of all the tracks in the Official Top 40 Singles Chart (as compiled by the Official Charts Company), from Rihanna to Coldplay, straight to Samsung mobile phones.

The app downloads and caches tracks overnight during off-peak network times which results in no streaming, no interruptions and no adverts; just all the latest hits available instantly on mobile devices. The service features daily chart updates which are delivered automatically so playlists are never out of date.

Plus, there are daily celebrity news updates and ‘What’s Hot’ bonus tracks included – a must for music fans who want to stay up to date with all the latest tracks and news. Notifications provide updates immediately and the app links to Facebook and Twitter, so owners of a Samsung device can comment and share what they’re listening to with friends and followers.
