@Somator THAT WONT WORK… apps that came with a Samsung ROM won’t work on AOSP roms because of a totaly different filesystem.

well you re not correct. it works if you just copy it to /data/app/
then try opening some .doc file :) it will not install as any other app but will open text files

i am using thinkdroid apk extracted from unofficial nexus s 4.0.4 update
and it is installing ok yet due to gazilion apps i have installed i was unable to determine if it is listed in app drawer (or should it be?). anyways it still opens doc files so it is working in that matter.

i will check tomorow, maybe it needs few ‘adjustements’ in build prop to ‘fake’ nexus s ics 4.0.4 device to get it installed corectly :)

I’ve flashed this on my I9000 and restored from RC3 using Titanium Backup. However, I’m now plagued with android.process.media FCs, and dependent applications don’t work. I’ve tried the setprop fixes several times and clearing the media cache with no luck. Any ideas?

youve aanserwed yourself -> titanium backup restored RC3 SYSTEM apps

clear dalvik / clear cache / clear data-fctory reset -> reflash rc4_v2 -> restore user apps NO SYSTEM APPS and it will be ok

Thanks, that fixed it. I’d generally restored “missing apps and system data” before, but it seems that was a bad idea.

untill google fix it you must use previous version of google maps – i think last version that got working compss waas 5.8.0 but i might be wrong. you cn find earlier maps versions here http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/google-maps

I have RC4v2 running and all is right but… I have no apps. Is there a way to get the market working? I was able to install whatsapp before applying STOCKPLUS_ICS_RC4_v2_FIX.zip
Moreover, I installed flash player but didn’t work… Is flash compatible with ICS???

Thanks for your answer.
At first, when I got RC4v2 running on my SGS, I installed a couple of apps without any problem. Then I installed STOCKPLUS_ICS_RC4_v2_FIX.zip and the market app dissapeared. Weird, isn’t it?
Now I have installed market v3.4.4 apk and the fix once again. I can do anything into the market but installing an app: “the application has stopped” (or something like this, translated from spanish…) Should I full wipe? Re-installing RC4v2 from the beginning?

youve messed up something badly. you know what you can do. just make sure you have Vending.apk in /data/app/ and copy it to /system/app/ the easiest way

Google Market is rebranding to Google Store as we speak. You can face the problems with installing apps after update when you get it or install from xda.

To get it work just rename The new Google Store file to Vending.apk and overwrite old file in /data/app/ with a reboot.

It all will be unnecessary in ext v3 or RC5 release. …

temporary solution: mute mic and unmute
other way to fix MAYBE: install other modem, maybe one for your carrier
modem flash package must be made for Cyanogenmod
